🤖 [NEW] Hummingbot BotCamp
Introducing Hummingbot BotCamp, a new developer bootcamp that teaches participants how to create their own trading bots using Hummingbot!
In the Scripts Developer I module starting in September, participants will learn how to create Scripts, simple Python files that can automate any type of trading logic across any set of Hummingbot exchange connectors.
The first live session will take place on September 5 from 2:30 to 4 PM UTC / 7:30 to 9 AM PST.
In addition, we are recruiting mentors, each with a specific area of expertise, to assist the botcamp participants. Please feel free to contact Michelle (michellelyc#6182) or Fede (dardonacci#4056) on Discord.
While the first batch is full, we are accepting applicants for future batches. Sign up today!
🏅[NEW] Exchange Certification Program
We are ecstatic that the first Exchange Certification election has successfully launched. These eligible exchanges have been approved by the community to be certified for Epoch 2:
This marks a significant change in the way that Hummingbot Foundation operates, since we can now focus our efforts on a smaller subset of exchanges in the codebase. Certified exchanges are clearly differentiated from non-certified exchanges in the Hummingbot client and documentation, get developer bounties to fund bug fixes and improvements, priority support, and other benefits.
See Exchange Certification in the Hummingbot website and check this Discourse topic for more details.
📝 [NEW] Bounties Board
Hummingbot employs a decentralized, community-driven maintenance process. Starting in Epoch 2, the Foundation has adopted a governance system aimed at incentivizing contributions by a decentralized network of community developers, rather than fixed component-specific maintainers.
Please check out the new public Github board for bug fixes and proposed enhancements with development bounties attached to them.
Hummingbot Foundation will create bounties for bugs related to certified exchange connectors and core Hummingbot processes, following the guidelines set forth in Bounties.
We encourage and extend our appreciation to our community developers who are stepping up in fixing the bugs and submitting the pull requests.
📺 [YouTube] Livestream with PartTimeLarry
Check out this YouTube livestream with Hummingbot co-founder Michael Feng and YouTuber PartTimeLarry, who specializes in videos about algorithmic trading bots!
In this in-depth video, we gave live demos of 3 Hummingbot strategies, including Pure Market Making (PMM), Cross Exchange Market Making (XEMM), AMM-Arbitrage using Gateeway!
Please watch and share with your network!
⛔ HBOT Nomad hack: post-mortem and next steps
Unfortunately, the August 3, 2022 hack of Nomad Protocol affected Hummingbot Foundation because we had used Nomad to bridge 10 million HBOT tokens, approximately 1% of the total token supply.
Hummingbot Foundation has conducted a rigorous post-mortem and analyzed various approaches to handling the issue. Please read more in this Discourse topic and join the discussion in the #hbot-token topic on Discord.
☎️ September Community Call
In order to showcase new exchanges / strategies added to the Hummingbot codebase and to engage with our community more broadly, we have started to hold regular Community Calls on our Discord server.
When: Wednesday, September 7th, 2pm UTC / 7am PST

❌ Don’t fall for HBOT scams!
Finally, we have seen reports of scammers DM-ing users on Discord, Twitter and other channels advertising fake HBOT token sales, as well as bot spammers that impersonated the names & profile of Hummingbot Foundation team members.
If you see anyone trying to scam Hummingbot users, please report it in the new #scam-reports Discord channel.
Hummingbot Foundation has never conducted any pre-sale or sale of HBOT tokens, and anyone purporting to offer HBOT tokens is a scammer.
The only way to get HBOT tokens from the Foundation is to earn them via approved Hummingbot Governance Proposals and Hummingbot Improvement Proposals.
