🚀 Hummingbot v1.18.0 release
We are very excited to ship the July 2023 release of Hummingbot (v1.18.0) today! This release features a significant upgrade to Python 3.10, providing enhanced performance and reliability for users. In Gateway, the Uniswap connector now supports fetching prices directly from pools, which lowers latency and resolves past issues. In addition, we added Candles Feeds and Market Orders support to the Ascendex connector, as well as a new DEX connector to Vertex!

🗳 Epoch 5 Polls Recap
We have completed the third round of Polls, an initiative that empowers HBOT holders to influence the allocation of Hummingbot Foundation's engineering resources and developer bounties across various Hummingbot codebase components.
The CEX Connectors poll placed centralized exchange connectors into Gold, Silver and Bronze tiers, which define the level of maintenance that the Foundation spends on each connector. The poll received 30 distinct votes, for a total of 90 million HBOT voting power spent.
The community chose Binance as the Gold CEX Connector, with Kucoin, AscendEx and Gate.io as the Silver CEX Connectors for Epoch 5.
The DEX Connectors poll placed decentralized exchange connectors into Gold, Silver and Bronze tiers, which define the level of maintenance that the Foundation spends on each connector. The poll received 23 distinct votes, for a total of 77 million HBOT voting power spent.
The community chose Uniswap as the Gold DEX Connector, with dYdX, Pancakeswap and Dexalot as the Silver DEX Connectors for Epoch 5.
The Core Strategies poll defines which strategies should be Core (officially maintained by the Foundation) versus Community (maintained by community members or not maintained). There were 22 unique votes in the poll, and the total number of HBOT voting power tallied was 75 million.
The community chose AMM Arbitrage, Pure Market Making and Cross-Exchange Market Making as the Core Strategies for Epoch 5.
In conclusion, we are thrilled for the continued support & votes on the Polls, and we look forward to developing the governance through Polls further in the future.

📊 Dashboard Community Project Updates
Hummingbot Dashboard is a community project to build dashboards that help you deploy, manage, backtest, and analyze Hummingbot instances (and much more!)
We are excited to begin collaborating with community members who will be advancing the development of various Streamlit dashboard pages in the coming months.
Since the official launch last month, significant progress has been made. In particular, we have streamlined our process by migrating our Notion page to GitHub Wiki, improving organization and making it more manageable for teams to update their respective pages and tasks.
In our last meeting, community member andej, a professional workshop facilitator, guided everyone through interactive exercises, including "How Might We" statements, brainstorming, and voting to prioritize what to build next. We’ll continue this process in the next bi-weekly Dashboard meeting.

🎓 Botcamp Cohort 5 has Started!
We are thrilled to have started the Botcamp Cohort 5 which has 26 students enrolled.
We have added a lot of content to Botcamp on this cohort that teaches you how to use Hummingbot’s most cutting-edge features, such as:
Backtesting directional strategies using Hummingbot Dashboard
Creating custom CEX/DEX market making strategies
We have started processing applications for Cohort 6 and will be capping the number of students, so reserve your spot today before they are all gone!
🤖Directional Strategies Experiment - MACD Cum Diff
This script marks the first community member submission for Strategy Experiments, which features a Hummingbot script leveraging the newly simplified directional strategy framework.
Developer drupman explains the key principles of the strategy, encompassing the indicators and their synergies. Finally, he shares the outcomes achieved after operating the bot for a week and offers insightful conclusions.
We encourage other community members to contribute their own custom Hummingbot scripts utilizing the directional strategy framework.

💰USDC Bounties Announcement
We are delighted to announce an update to our Bounties process. Starting July 28, 2023, bounty recipients have the flexibility to receive rewards either in HBOT, our native governance token, or the equivalent amount in USDC.
By default, bounties are distributed in HBOT. If you want to change your bounty denomination, simply re-submit the AML Policy form.

🏆 Community Incentives Program Update
We deeply appreciate our members’ consistent and active involvement in our Community Incentives program, which aims to foster robust engagement and dynamic problem-solving within our Discord channels by rewarding quality answers with HBOT rewards.
We warmly extend our invitation to other members of our community to partake in this program, where you can earn HBOT tokens simply by sharing your knowledge and answering questions!
To get started, just fill out the AML Policy form and then start answering questions in Discord’s public channels.

❌ Don’t fall for HBOT scams!
Finally, we have seen reports of scammers DM-ing users on Discord, Twitter and other channels advertising fake HBOT token sales, as well as bot spammers that impersonated the names & profile of Hummingbot Foundation team members.
If you see anyone trying to scam Hummingbot users, please report it in the new #scam-reports Discord channel.
Hummingbot Foundation has never conducted any pre-sale or sale of HBOT tokens, and anyone purporting to offer HBOT tokens is a scammer.
The only way to get HBOT tokens from the Foundation is to earn them.
